About

Tom of Finland’s home in LA is recognized not only for its historic architecture but as a cultural resource of the City of Los Angeles. The Craftsman style home was designated by the City as a Historic-Cultural Monument in 2016 and has served as a living room for the LGBTQ+ communities and beyond— offering safety, acceptance, and joy within its walls. Tom of Finland House (TOM House) is significant for its association with Tom, the historic personage who lived here during the last decade of his life. This era marked a particularly productive period in his career with his contributions to erotic art and Gay culture.

Visit our extensive library, see Tom’s original desk where he created some of his most iconic works, see permanent installations created by A-i-R alumni, cruise through Pleasure Park, and sign our guest book. Perhaps you will even meet Pearl, our housecat-in-residence!
